Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 2026

The short version: We use only strictly necessary cookies — one for admin login, and a few set by Google reCAPTCHA for spam prevention. We use zero advertising cookies, zero analytics trackers, and zero social media pixels. You will never see a cookie consent popup for advertising on GetQuickHelp.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They help websites remember information about your visit — such as whether you are logged in, or what you put in your cart.

Cookies can be "session cookies" (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (stored on your device for a set period). They can be set by the website you visit ("first-party cookies") or by third-party services embedded in it ("third-party cookies").

UK and EU law requires that cookies which are not strictly necessary require your consent before being set. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, we do not need to show you a consent banner for advertising purposes — and we don't.

Cookies we set

GetQuickHelp sets one first-party cookie:

Cookie nameTypePurposeDurationSet when?
admin_sessionStrictly necessary · First-partyKeeps admin users authenticated to the admin dashboard. Only set if you explicitly log in as a site administrator.Session (deleted when browser closes)Only on admin login

Regular users of the platform — people browsing posts, posting ads, or using the contact form — will never have this cookie set.

Third-party cookies (Google reCAPTCHA)

We use Google reCAPTCHA v3 on our post creation form to prevent automated spam and bot submissions. reCAPTCHA analyses browser behaviour in the background to assess whether a submission is from a human.

When you use the post creation form, Google reCAPTCHA may set the following cookies:

Cookie nameSet byPurposeTypical duration
rc::aGoogle reCAPTCHAPersistent identifier for reCAPTCHA risk analysisPersistent (until cleared)
rc::bGoogle reCAPTCHASession-level reCAPTCHA stateSession
rc::cGoogle reCAPTCHASession-level reCAPTCHA stateSession

These cookies are strictly necessary for the spam protection system to function. Without them, automated bots could flood the platform with fake posts, making it unusable for genuine users.

reCAPTCHA is operated by Google. Google's use of data when using reCAPTCHA is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

What we do NOT use

To be explicit, GetQuickHelp does not use:

How to control cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. The links below show you how for the most common browsers:

Note: blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of the post creation form (reCAPTCHA requires its cookies to work). It will not affect browsing, searching, or reading posts.

To opt out of Google reCAPTCHA's data use specifically, you can use Google's Ads Settings page.

Local storage

In addition to cookies, some websites use "local storage" — a browser-based storage mechanism. GetQuickHelp does not use local storage to track users. We do not store any personal data in your browser's local storage.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we add new features that require additional cookies. We will always update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.

Our commitment is simple: we will never add advertising or behavioural tracking cookies to GetQuickHelp.
